Since the iPhone 12 Apple has paired several components to the individual phone, including the display, the battery and the rear camera, so fitting a part that has not been paired produces a Service warning in Settings and can disable True Tone or battery health reporting. Genuine Apple parts fitted with the correct process keep all of those features working.
From the iPhone 12 onward the display carries a chip that identifies it to the phone. If the replacement panel is not genuine, or is genuine but has not been paired to that specific phone, iOS reports it under Settings, General, About as an unknown part and True Tone is turned off. Fitting genuine Apple parts and completing the pairing step clears the message and restores True Tone and auto brightness.
It will if the battery is a genuine Apple cell that has been paired to the phone. Otherwise iOS shows an Important Battery Message and hides the maximum capacity percentage, even though the phone charges normally. That is a software lock rather than a hardware fault, and it is the reason we do not fit unbranded cells.
Not if the work is done correctly. Face ID lives in the TrueDepth camera module at the top of the display assembly, and that module is paired to the Secure Enclave, so it must be transferred from the original screen to the replacement rather than being swapped as part of the panel. If Face ID stops working after a repair elsewhere, the flex was usually damaged during that transfer.
