About this part
The Touch ID Shim Button (Apple part number 923-01519) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, 4 TBT3), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, 4 TBT3), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, 4 TBT3) and 2 other models. This service material secures or cushions the component named in the listing. It is not the display, battery or trackpad itself. Match the part number and device model before ordering.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookPro15,2, MacBookPro14,2, MacBookPro13,2, MacBookPro14,3 and MacBookPro15,1/15,3.
When to replace this service material
- The original adhesive was removed during disassembly
- The specified pad, tape or shim is torn, contaminated or missing
- The service procedure calls for fresh adhesive before reassembly
Not sure the adhesive or cushioning material is the real cause? We diagnose the Mac before replacing anything, and we can install this genuine Apple part for you through our MacBook Pro repair service, in our Tampa shop or by mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
