About this part
The Trackpad Keyboard Cowling (Apple part number 923-05233) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) and MacBook Pro 13-inch M2 2022. The keyboard assembly is built into the top case on most MacBooks, so its keys, backlight, and flex cables are replaced together.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookPro17,1 and Mac14,7.
Signs the keyboard needs replacing
- Keys that stick, repeat, or do not register
- Backlight that is dim, patchy, or completely dead
- Liquid spills that left keys crunchy or unresponsive
- Touch ID or function keys that stopped responding
Not sure the keyboard is the real cause? Our keyboard replacement service starts with a full diagnosis, and we can install this genuine Apple part for you through our MacBook Pro repair service, in our Tampa shop or by mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
