Cowling, eDP (Display) Flex Cable

About this part

The Cowling, eDP (Display) Flex Cable (Apple part number 923-02877) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Air 13-inch M1 2020, MacBook Air 13-inch Retina 2018, MacBook Air 13-inch Retina 2019 and 1 other model. This cowling is the small metal cover that secures the eDP (Display) flex cable connection. That connector carries the picture signal and backlight power from the logic board to the screen. Match the cowling and its mounting hardware to the listed device model.

Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookAir10,1, MacBookAir8,1, MacBookAir8,2 and MacBookAir9,1.

Signs the cowling needs replacing

• A black screen while the Mac still chimes or the keyboard lights up
• Flicker, lines, or a picture that drops out when the lid moves
• The display cut out after the bottom case or logic board was removed
• An external monitor works but the built-in screen does not
