The Cowling, Flexible, Touch ID Board (Apple part number 923-14447) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Air 15-inch M5 2026. This cowling is the small metal cover that clamps the Flexible, Touch ID Board connector to the logic board. That connector links the audio board, headphone jack and Touch ID sensor to the logic board. If it is missing or bent, the connector can lift slightly and the audio and Touch ID can become unreliable.
