Touch ID Board Y-shaped Cowling

About this part

The Touch ID Board Y-shaped Cowling (Apple part number 923-08670) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro 14-inch 2023 M2 Pro/Max, MacBook Pro 14-inch 2023 M3/Pro/Max, MacBook Pro 14-inch 2024 M4/Pro/Max and 2 other models. Apple uses specific screw lengths and threads in each location, and a wrong or missing screw can crack a board, dent a case, or leave a part loose.

Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: Mac14,5/14,9, Mac15,3/15,6/15,8/15,10, Mac16,1/16,6/16,8, Mac17,2 and Mac17,4/17,6.

Signs the screw or fastener needs replacing

• A missing screw after a previous repair or upgrade
• Stripped heads or threads that no longer hold
• Rattling inside the case, or a component that shifts
• A board or bracket that is not fully seated
