About this part
The Cowling, Trackpad and Keyboard Flex (Apple part number 923-02508) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) and MacBook Pro 15-inch 2019. This cowling is the small metal cover that secures the Trackpad and Keyboard flex connection. That connector carries every keystroke, click and gesture from the top case to the logic board. Match the cowling and its mounting hardware to the listed device model.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookPro15,1 and MacBookPro15,1/15,3.
Signs the cowling needs replacing
- Keyboard and trackpad both stop responding at the same time
- Keys or clicks that work only when the case is pressed
- The built-in keyboard works only after a restart
- Input stopped working after a battery or board repair
Not sure the cowling is the real cause? We diagnose the Mac before replacing anything, and we can install this genuine Apple part for you through our MacBook Pro repair service, in our Tampa shop or by mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
