What Affects the Cost
Flexgate on 2016-2017 models
The A1706 and A1708 use a short display cable that wears as the lid opens, causing a stage light effect at the bottom of the screen or a backlight that cuts out past a certain angle. It can often be fixed at the component level.
Staingate coating wear
Patchy, stained-looking areas on the screen come from the anti-reflective coating breaking down. Cleaning does not fix it, so a display replacement is the real repair.
Year and model number
Each generation (2016-2017, 2018-2019, 2020 Intel, M1/M2) uses a different display assembly, and prices differ between them. We match the part to your exact model number.
Pre-owned or brand new part
Pre-owned genuine Apple displays sit at the lower end of the range with a 180-day warranty. Brand new genuine displays carry a 1-year warranty.
WarriorMac vs. Apple Store
Apple usually replaces the whole display assembly on a 13-inch MacBook Pro for $399-$599 and may no longer service the older Intel years at all. WarriorMac installs genuine Apple displays and can often repair backlight cable faults at a lower cost.
