SSD & Storage Upgrades for Mac

Mac SSD upgrade: replace a slow hard drive or Fusion Drive with a fast SSD. Data cloned, 1-year warranty. MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini. Same-day available.

Typical turnaround: Same day - 1 business day

An SSD upgrade is the single biggest performance improvement you can make to an older Mac. If your MacBook, iMac, or Mac Mini still has a spinning hard drive or Fusion Drive, replacing it with a solid-state drive cuts boot time from over a minute to under 15 seconds, makes applications launch instantly, and transforms everyday responsiveness.

At WarriorMac, we clone all your data to the new SSD before the swap, so nothing is lost. We handle the proper thermal sensor configuration on iMacs so there are no fan noise issues after the upgrade. Every SSD upgrade includes a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.

We carry 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB drives in stock for same-day service on most models. Bundle an SSD with a RAM upgrade for the best performance boost at a lower combined cost.

Mac SSD upgrade in detail

Which Macs benefit most

The Macs that gain the most from a solid-state drive are the 2012 to 2020 Intel machines that shipped with a mechanical or fusion hard drive: many iMacs, the 2014 and 2018 Mac mini, and older MacBooks. On those machines a slow drive is usually the real reason the whole computer feels sluggish, and swapping to an SSD brings boot times down from minutes to seconds.

On Apple silicon Macs the storage is soldered and encrypted, so it cannot be upgraded. We will tell you that up front rather than take a job that is not physically possible.

We move your Mac, not just the drive

A drive swap is only half the job. We clone or migrate your existing system, apps and files onto the new SSD so you sit down to exactly the Mac you had, only far faster, with nothing to set up again. On an iMac, where opening the glued display is the bulk of the labour, we do this alongside any other internal work whenever we can to save you money.

We also check the health of the old drive on the way out, so if it was already failing we can flag any files at risk before they are lost.

Quality parts and clear pricing

We fit reliable, correctly matched drives with a one-year warranty on new parts, and diagnosis and advice are free with a fixed price before work begins.
