About this part
The Cowling, L-Shaped (Apple part number 923-04173) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, 2 TBT3) and MacBook Pro 13-inch 2020 4TBT3. This cowling is the small metal cover that secures the L-Shaped connection. Its job is to keep that connector seated and shielded inside the case. Match the cowling and its mounting hardware to the listed device model.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookPro16,3 and MacBookPro16,2.
Signs the cowling needs replacing
- The cowling went missing after a previous repair
- A bent cowling that no longer sits flat
- A connector underneath that keeps working loose
- A component that cuts out after the bottom case was opened
Not sure the cowling is the real cause? We diagnose the Mac before replacing anything, and we can install this genuine Apple part for you through our MacBook Pro repair service, in our Tampa shop or by mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
