About this part
The Hard Drive Bracket/Carrier/Mount, Right (Apple part number 923-00087) is a genuine Apple part that fits the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Mid 2015), iMac 27-inch 5K 2017, iMac 27-inch 5K 2019 and 1 other model. The storage drive holds macOS and all of your files, so it affects boot time, app speed, and data safety.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: iMac15,1, iMac18,3, iMac19,1 and iMac17,1.
Signs the storage drive needs replacing
- A flashing folder with a question mark at startup
- Very slow boots, beach balls, or apps that freeze while saving
- Disk Utility errors or a drive that does not show up
- Clicking or grinding sounds from a hard drive
