About this part
The Touch ID Board Connector Cowling (5 Pieces) (Apple part number 923-07034) is a genuine Apple part that fits the MacBook Pro 14-inch 2021 M1 Pro/Max, MacBook Pro 14-inch 2023 M2 Pro/Max, MacBook Pro 14-inch 2024 M4/Pro/Max and 1 other model. This cowling is the small metal cover that clamps the (5 Pieces) connector to the logic board. Its job is to keep that connector seated and shielded inside the case. If it is missing or bent, the connector can lift slightly and the connected component can become unreliable.
Before you order, match the model identifier on your Mac (Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report) to one of the identifiers listed for this part: MacBookPro18,3/18,4, Mac14,5/14,9, Mac16,1/16,6/16,8 and Mac16,7/16,5.
Signs the cowling needs replacing
- The cowling went missing after a previous repair
- A bent cowling that no longer sits flat
- A connector underneath that keeps working loose
- A component that cuts out after the bottom case was opened
